Welcome to St Fiacre's Catholic Primary School Website

As a new year begins we are looking forward to welcoming back all our fantastic students and especially look forward to meeting the many new families who will become part of our wonderful school community this year.

2012 promises to be an exciting year for our community with our brand new play area looking greener than ever, our new multipurpose building to host more exciting activities than ever before and most of all coming together for another year of faith, learning and care.

NAPLAN 2011 – Congratulations students and teachers another fantastic result

Year 3

  • Year 3 improved by 54 scale scores from the 2010 data in the aspect of Numeracy
  • All students in Year 3 are 78 scale scores above the state average in the test aspect of Grammar and Punctuation
  • Year 3 students performed significantly higher than the state in the top two bands in all areas
  • Students were more than 25 points above the state mean in Spelling, more than 45 above state mean in Writing, more than 49 above in Numeracy and more than 77 above in Grammar and Punctuation

Year 5

  • Year 5 students performed significantly higher than the state in the top two bands in
  • Reading, Writing, Grammar and Punctuation and Numeracy.
  • There were over 20% more students in the top two bands in both reading and grammar and Punctuation than in the state.
  • All students were 25 points above the state mean in reading and more than 31 above state mean in Grammar and Punctuation.

Growth – Year 5 Only

  • 63.6% of students were greater than or equal to expected growth
  • 27.27% of students were in the 75th percentile
  • Year 5 boys are 9 scale scores above the state average growth in Grammar and Punctuation

These results are a direct consequence of the outstanding teaching and learning in the classroom and the support programs that are part of our commitment to delivering quality education.

 

Outstanding Naplan Results for St Fiacre's 2010

  • Year 5 Naplan Results

    • Results for students in the top two Bands were significantly higher in all areas when compared to all other schools.
    • In Grammar and Punctuation 73% of students were in the top two Bands compared to 45% in the State.
    • In Reading 69% of students in the top two Bands compared to 33% in the State.
    • Average growth in Writing was 81.6 compared to 15.2 for the State and 18.4 for CEC.
    • Average growth in Spelling was 109.1 compared to 26.5 for the State and 30.0 from CEC.
    • No students were below the minimum standard in any area.
    • No students in the lowest two Bands for either Literacy or Numeracy.

  • Year 3 Naplan Results

    • Students were above all other schools in the areas of Reading, Writing, and were significantly higher in Grammar and Punctuation.
    • In Writing 90% of students were in the top 3 Bands and 0% in the bottom 2 Bands.
    • In Reading 83% of students were in the top 3 Bands compared to 72% in the State.
    • In Grammar and Punctuation 70% of students were in the top two bands compared to 54% in the State.
    • No students were below the minimum standard in Numeracy, Writing, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation.
